The Asian butadiene market weakened April 30, as the short-term outlook turned more bearish due to slowing demand and an increased supply expected in June. On April 30, a 2,000-mt shipment for H2 may delivery was traded at $1340/mt CFR China. This trade was not taken into account for the assessment because it could not have been corroborated on the larger market. CFR China Butadiene is down $10/mt from the previous day to $1,420/mt. Sources said that despite the current market shifting to a more bearish outlook due to limited upside in demand, there have been no drastic changes yet as cost pressures make it difficult for offer levels and prices to be adjusted down.
