The Asian methanol markets were quiet on
June 8. Chinese domestic methanol price
retraced its losses and was discussed at around Yuan 2,070-2,090/mt or
$240-$242/mt based on import parity. Sources in
the trade said that June 7, when domestic prices fell Yuan 130/mt from day to
day, to Yuan 2,040/mt under a clouded of uncertainty and slow domestic and
global growth, there was an overcorrection. China's
General Administration of Customs data showed that overall exports in May fell
7.5% on an annual basis, surpassing expectations of a decline of 0.4%. This was
the largest decline of this year. Longzhong Information Services
reported that the Chinese coastal methanol inventory increased by 5.37%...
