China's production increases by 15,000 mt in a single week / Imports of China SM rise to 20,448 mt during April

CFR China styrene Monomer and FOB Korean markers on May 23 were $1,162/mt & $1,152/mt respectively, down $20/mt since the previous assessment. Prices fell due to a combination of softer upstream crude prices and a correction in the market after prices had risen sharply earlier in week on positive sentiments about China's government stimulus program and support for its property sector. The macroeconomy saw crude oil futures lower in the mid-afternoon Asian trading on May 23, as the US Dollar stabilized near a week-high, causing a demand spike for dollar-denominated commodities such as crude futures. The front-month ICE Brent Futures were assessed at $81.96/b, down 98 cents/b. Upstream, the benzene FOB Korea mark also saw lower discussions on the day, at $1,052/mt. This is down $4/mt from the previous day....
