Asian MTBE has finally broken the downward trend it was in since last Monday, gaining some ground on May 9. MTBE FOB Singapore was up $10/mt on the day to $882/mt on May 9. The MTBE factor at 1.136 remained stable. Singapore Market Close Assessment Process May 9 saw no offers or bids. On May 9, the 92 RON crack for Brent crude fell again to $7.82/b from $8.63/b in May 8. Sources said that the gasoline market in Asia is becoming increasingly bearish.
