China's March imports of propylene rose 22% over the previous month / China's Yulong Petrochemical prepares trial run at new Shandong refinery of 400,000 b/d

On April 24, there was little activity in the spot market. Sources said that market participants were seeking more clarity in the face of the volatile upstream oil markets, while also monitoring the situation in China. A trader stated that many PDH plants are monitoring feedstock costs and prices in China. They may increase their overall operating rates when an opportunity arises, which would put pressure on propylene. According to the latest data from customs, China imported 175,314mt of Propylene in march, a 22% increase from February but a 27% decrease from last year's same period. In March, 76% of China's propylene imports came from South Korea. Japan accounted for 20%. A company source revealed that China's Yulong Petrochemical was preparing to begin trial operations in its new 400,000-b/d refinery...
