China's coast inventory is down 13% in a week / Tight methanol supplies to China in May / ZPC's 3.3 million mt/year of methanol plants closed due to technical issues

On May 15, the price of imported spot cargoes of methanol in China was stable at $305/mt on thin trade. The tight supply of methanol into China in May supported the prices of both domestic and imported spot cargoes. Chinese brokers report that cargoes delivered in May were traded on May 15 at a premium between Yuan 210-230/mt and the September contract for methanol. Cargoes due to be delivered in June were traded with a premium between Yuan 65-75/mt over the September contract. Methanol inventories along China's eastern and southern coastlines decreased 13% in a week, to 558.700 mt on May 15, according to data from Longzhong Information Services.
