South Asia ACN prices drop due to weak demand / Acrylic fiber demand is poor / Lower discussions, fewer deals in India

South Asia's acrylonitrile markets continued to soften in the week ending July 30, due to persistently weak demand and stable supplies. The Platt-assessed ACN CFR South Asia mark dropped $10/ mt over the week to $1,230/mt on July 30. Market sources say that the market is unchanged from the previous week, and the downward trend in prices continues because of the lower discussion on poor demand. A downstream acrylic fiber manufacturer said that the demand for its end-product has not improved. The producer stated that "the fiber demand is still low and we have yet to finalize a deal for ACN cargo, as we anticipate the tradable level can drop this week."
