PHENOL: Although there were concerns about
the availability of spot-phenol in Asia, a source from Asia said that a Chinese
185,000 mt/year plant was due to turn on turnaround in April and may be
operational in May. However, this was not confirmed by the plant. The net balance of phenol within Asia was
not clear. This was partly due to new capacity in China. However, domestic
prices in India were almost stable at around Rs 105/kg. Sentiment was
