Higher inquiries from India and Thailand / Domestic Chinese prices go up Yuan 100/mt DOD

Due to a tight supply, Asian acrylonitrile was priced at $1280/mt CFR Far East Asia & Southeast Asia on Jan. 14. This is up $15/mt from the previous week. According to a distributor, the Chinese market was stable and supply had recovered. A small amount of acrylonitrile for exports in January was also available. Due to export talks to India and Thailand, Chinese prices rose by around Yuan 100/mt per day on Jan. 14, in east China. Market sources also acknowledged that costs had risen. Many suppliers in Northeast Asia focused on the Indian market because it offered better netbacks. Feedstock CFR China propylene was stable at $870/mt from Jan. 10, the highest price since August 21, 2024 when it was $872/mt.
