The Asian toluene price was stable or firm on April 24, despite tight rangebound prices upstream. Sources said that South Korea made few spot offers, and cargoes of Chinese origin were waiting for the May Day Golden Week. A trader stated that "no exports have been made so far, except for May-loading contract [that] were heard to be done earlier from China towards India." A trader stated that "Ramadan has ended but the demand is not yet picking up." A trader said that the bulk of base chemicals going to the US would still be mixed-xylenes. This indicated that there were not many toluene stocks left in Asia.
