Asian Caprolactam prices stable this week amid quiet discussions / Participants sidelined amid rising volatility / Taiwan's CPDC restarts Hsiaokang after typhoon

The Asian caprolactam price was stable during the week ending October 10, despite the volatility on upstream markets. The FOB Korea mark for benzene fell by $21.67/mt on the previous week to $928/mt on Oct. 10. Last, the ammonia CFR Fareast Asia mark at $450/mt was stable. Sources said that despite the China market returning from Golden Week holidays, the trading activity remains limited due to the volatility of benzene upstream. Downstream PA6 flake prices were strong when the market returned after the holidays. However, now it is difficult to maintain this momentum as demand has slowed. Prices in China were around Yuan 11450/mt. This is up from Yuan 11400/mt prior to the Golden Week holidays.
