Asian MTBE FOB Singapore drops on week amid muted markets- Weakening Brent prices and poor crack margins- North Chinese domestic price at Yuan 7.600-8.680/mtSources said that Asian MTBE dropped
$56.37/mt from last week to $859/mt F.O.B. Singapore on May 5, due to the drop
in Brent prices. There was also a lack of market activity during this week. The ICE July Brent Futures
fell by $5.61/b on a week-on-week basis to $73.36/b, May 5, due to the plunge
in Brent prices and muted market activity this week. A source reported that the lack of activity in Southeast
Asia this week was due to lower Brent prices, and low crack margins following
Labour Day. A Chinese supplier reported
that the Chinese market saw decreased activity as well, with little domestic
gasoline blending transactions heard....
