General purpose PC was stable for the day and week on August 14, at $1.810/mt CFR China, in line with tradeable indications at that level. Extrusion-grade PC remained unchanged at $1,820/mt, CFR China on August 14, reflecting the tradable indicators heard at this level. Sources say that in Northeast Asia, especially China, the spot market has remained subdued and trading activity low due to seasonal lulls. A trader stated that low operating rates kept inventory pressures in check. Local sources reported that the overall operating rate for PC plants in China is between 60%-70%.
