On August 27, the price of Glacial Acrylic Acid in North and East China ex-works was stable for the day, but Yuan 150/mt down on the week. The price stood at Yuan 6.900/mt, based on tradable indicators heard at Yuan 6.800-6.950/mt. A producer stated that "downstream demand is very limited" at this time. Sources on the market said that contract traders were prioritizing consumption of current inventory as they transitioned to new contracts. Trade sources stated that even though GAA prices dropped at the beginning of the week, profits margins remained positive. Another producer stated that "GAA prices will be better next Monday." A company source told Aug. 26 that China's Wanhua Chemical would delay the start-up of its 60,000 mt/year GAA factory in Yantai (Shandong) until the first half...
