Asian MTBE prices end the week with a slight decline day-on-day / Offer heard at $735/mt CFR Straits for 20 kt cargo / Refiners face tough choices as margins for gasoline and aromatics fall

On Sept. 20, Asian MTBE FOB Singapore was down $4.50/ mt from $760.50/mt, while the MTBE FOB Singapore Factor remained unchanged at 1.108. On Sept. 20, 92 RON gasoline marked at $81.24/b, down from $81.71/b the previous day. Brent crude oil RON 92 cracked was $6.77/b lower on September 20 than $7.26/b. The FOB Singapore price rose this week, and traders were hopeful that trading would resume at higher prices. A source reported that a seller in the market had indicated a price of $735/mt CFR Straits for a parcel weighing 20,000 mt for arrival cargo H2 November. It was not clear whether the parcel had been traded. According to a source, freight between China and Singapore is around $45-$48/mt. This would translate into a FOB China price of $687-690/mt....
