On Sept. 6, the Asian MTBE FOB Singapore was down $6.50/mt from day to day, at $695.50/mt. The MTBE FOB Singapore Factor remained unchanged at 1.078. The MTBE FOB Singapore assessment fell $77.50/mt from week to week. FOB China prices also fell during the week. To preserve their production margins, Chinese producers did not want to reduce their prices below $740-$760/mt FOB China in September. According to a market source, the East China price must be higher than $740/mt for sales to take place. In Singapore, traders hoped for cargo prices to be below $700/mt. FOB China. A market source said that the East China domestic tradable price for prompt cargoes fell on the day, to Yuan 6,001/mt. According to the source, Shandong and Dalian were cheaper than East China...
