Asian ABS prices rise due to higher feedstock costs / Feedstock prices up to over $14/mt in a single week / China's ABS Plant Run Rates Up on Week

The acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene CFR China marker up $10/mt on the week at $1,410/mt on Dec. 18, in line with higher feedstock costs, which rose $14/mt on the week. This was however still lower than the higher offers of $1,430-1,460/mt heard from producers. In the week ending Dec. 18, producers raised their offer levels, anticipating tightness in January cargoes as demand will increase during the Lunar New Year period. The butadiene CFR China mark was up $60/mt from the previous week to $1,210/mt, while the acrylonitrile CFR Far East Asia mark remained stable at $1.235/mt since Dec. 17, and the styrene Monomer CFR China Marker increased $8.50/mt over the past week to $1,047.50/mt.
