On June 12, there was a strong interest in
the benzene markets, with a wide spread between buyers' and sellers'
expectations for quick dates. For June,
there was a bid-offer difference of $100/mt. This indicates that cargoes are
not very popular for this month. Laycans for five to 30 days of
forward delivery fell by $11/mt in one day. Sellers also made lower offers for
July and August. Crude prices fell over the weekend upstream. Front month
swaps for ICE Brent crude were down $3.54 per day to $72.61/b. The
downstream styrene markets saw prices rise on June 12, but little information
was given about a possible recovery in the demand. Styrene was
