DOTP and DINP prices remain stable / US housing starts fall to 7-month-low

The US domestic 2-ethyl butanol and normal Butanol price fell during the week ending April 18 in response to the movement on the upstream market. The domestic market tracked the upstream movement of spot polymer-grade Propylene prices April 12-18. Propylene prices have been impacted by increased availability of product and market activity. Domestic NBA and 2-EH contract prices were 101.5 cents/lb versus 110.5 cents/lb, delivered East Rockies basis. Both contracts are down 0.75 cents/lb from the previous week. Market feedback on plasticizers indicated stable supply and demand amid expectations for lower prices because of declining plasticizer prices. On April 18, domestic dioctyl and diisononylphthalate were available at 99 cents/lb, and 97 cents/lb, respectively.
