MTBE FOB Singapore Asian down $7/mt from $985/mt on April 30. The MTBE factor FOB Singapore was unchanged at 1.155. On April 30, there were no offers or bids in the Market on Close process. A source in Singapore stated that gasoline prices in Asia were flat and that demand was low. On April 29, a deal was transacted for 10,000 mt MTBE at $940/mt FOM China for cargo in late May. However, there were confirmations of the deal by sources based in China. Another Asian source expressed doubts, stating that June arrival cargoes are no longer desired and the deal may be older.
