Asian butadiene was stable on March
22. Spot prices discussions were limited due to volatile upstream markets. May ICE Brent futures were
$0.90/b higher on March 22 at $75.02/b. The local China butadiene prices
remained stable on the same day at Yuan 8,700/mt March 22, or $1.098/mt based
on import parity, according to data. China's butadiene
markets were bearish due to rising supplies. The local China price, pegged
lower than CFR China, also showed a limited demand. The CFR China butadiene prices are currently $51/mt lower
than the local China price. CFR Japan naphtha was $2.75/mt more upstream at
$624.50/mt February 22. The price spread
between butadiene (naphtha) was $525.50/mt February 22, according to data.
