Players note stronger pricing erosion in copolymers / Contract prices end April at Eur20/mt Increase

The spot prices of polypropylene in Europe fell over the course of the week ending April 24. This was due to the structural weakness that finally became apparent in the market as a result from the increasing lengths in supply. Despite the ongoing force majeure and outages across the continent, the availability of polypropylene has increased throughout the week. This is due to the reduced spot activity as well as the continued arrivals of import cargoes onto the market. The increased availability of polypropylene finally impacted the weak structural demand in the key sectors such as construction, durables and automotive.
