- Crude prices decline over weekend- Styrene costs fall amid low
demand

Over the weekend, European benzene prices
fell as a result of a backwardated structure that remained in place during
March and April. The delivery timeframe of five to 30
days was $954.50/mt CIF AR, which is $1.75 less than the previous day. Over the
weekend, energy prices fell as well. The 16:30
London-time assessment of the ICE Brent crude oil front month swap fell 59c to
$82.09/b. The downstream styrene demand remained low. Prices fell
as a result of lower offers over the weekend. The forward
loading laycan for five to 30 days was priced at $1,049/mt FOB AR Feb. 27,
which is down $26/mt.
