Crude Oil Prices Decline amid Rising US Dollar with Trump Administration Set to Impose / Tariffs on Canadian and Mexican Imports

Data compiled by Polymerupdate Research shows that benchmark Brent crude for near-month deliveries on the Intercontinental Exchange fell by 0.14 percent or US$ 0.11 a barrel to US$ 76.76 a barrel on Friday. This is down from US$ 76.87 a barrel the previous day. Similarly, West Texas Intermediate Cushing futures on the New York Mercantile Exchange for near-month deliveries on Friday fell by 0.27 percent or US$ 0.20 a bar, compared with US$72.73 a bar on Thursday. Prices were also pushed lower due to the US dollar's gains against other major currencies. The euro dropped 0.3% to USD 1,0367.
