On Thursday, open spec naphtha bid prices for the 1H of March were assessed at the USD 626/mt CFR Far East levels while the ask rate was at the USD 628/mt CFR Far East levels, a decline of USD (-8/mt) from Wednesday. An industry source in Asia informed a team member, "The Asian naphtha cracking spread has decreased with demand noted to be tepid. Meanwhile, Lotte Chemical of Indonesia has bid for 1-3 ships of naphtha for H2 April delivery. The company has a 1 million mt/year ethylene cracking unit, which is set to begin trial operations in May or June."
