Sources said that the
paraxylene/naphtha split is likely to stay above $400-420/mt in the coming
weeks due to the strong demand for aromatics before the US driving season. Asian paraxylene was up $24.66/mt for the day to $1,146.33/mt, CFR
Unv1/China, April 13. This is the highest price since July 8, 2020, when it
reached $1,192.50/mt. Sources said that the spread remained above $400-420/mt, as PX prices
increased while naphtha fell due to excess supply. The PX-Naphtha Spread has averaged $436.71/mt in April so far, compared to
$385.68/mt during the entire month of March. A trader from China stated that the current tight supply of PX is also
