polyethylene market saw a slowdown in trading activity during the week ending
May 24, due to a lack of interest in buying. The demand for European LLDPE was sluggish, with
consumers buying only what they need due to a weak end-user market. The order
books of some consumers were low or empty, which indicates low interest in
buying from the end-user industries. Sellers said
that demand was slightly better in May than it was in April, but still low. April was
shorter due to holidays. A market source stated that end-user
demand in industries like infrastructure, building and construction was low. The European
production is down, but the supply is plentiful. The weak
