US spot export prices
and domestic contract prices for polypropylene remained stable from the week
prior to June 7, as demand remained minimal due to seasonal summer slowdowns. The homopolymer
grade currently priced at $937/mt FAS Houston was the lowest level since July
7, 2020. Based on feedback from the
market, copolymer PP is priced at a premium of 3 cents over homopolymer. Upstream, polymer-grade propylene was at 31,25 cents/lb in
June 7. It remained stable for the day but fell 3.5 cents/lb over the week. Prices have fallen 8.5 cents/lb from the beginning of May. One source stated that although propylene prices are down,
