The US Gulf Coast benzene price was stable
on 1 May, as offers and bids remained wide. DDP benzene in May at 359 cents/gal, and FOB
benzene in May at 369 cents/gal. Prices of benzene fell by about 10%
in the second half April due to energy futures, and concerns over the economy. The energy
market was up on the day. NYMEX June RBOB increased 3.74 cents,
to 253.01 cents/gal. WTI June rose $2.03, to $76.61/b.
