US acetic acids prices fell $45/mt in the
week ending April 27 due to a strong supply and weaker demand. Acetic acid has now
dropped 55% since a June 2022 high of $2000-2040/mt. Sources claim that US export prices are $200-220/mt less
than the European material, which is currently in high supply. Prices of vinyl acetate monomer remained stable in the past
week, as some price indications did not match market fundamentals. The demand for materials has remained low, as the housing
construction rate has not increased at the usual pace at this time of year. A source stated that "[there's] ample supply and
