ABS prices fall, tracking lower feedstock value / China's stimulus has not yet had a meaningful impact

The acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) spot market in Asia lost ground June 5, with the weakness underpinned by a decline in upstream styrene monomer prices. The price of ABS cargoes to be delivered into China dropped $20/mt from week-to-week, reaching $1450/mt in June 5. Sources in the trade said that lower prices are also in line with falling Chinese domestic prices. Sources said that buyers showed little interest in offers for H2 June to H1 July deliveries at $1,480-1,500/mt CFR China. A producer in northeast Asia stated that there was no sense in offering material. We will accept any reasonable price from a buyer.
