US Benzene trading activity on the spot market was muted, with no trades being reported. The day was also characterized by a lack of new bids and offers. May spot market prices were stable at 399 cents/gal USG DDP. The forward-month levels for June were unchanged at 393 cents/gal USG. The June offers were 401 cents/gal DDP. The market structure on FOB USG did not change. Backwardation between June and May remained at 6 cents. June and July remained at 3 cents. July and the third-quarter stayed at 1 cent. The crude oil market settled lower on May 20 as traders assessed the impact of the death of Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi who died in a helicopter accident over the weekend.
