- Asia's domestic demand is decreasing- Butadiene contract prices settle down Eur20-21/mt



The European acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene
market continued to see a wide gap between domestic and import prices in the
seven days to March 29, as thin domestic demand in Asia meant that Europe
remained an attractive option for exports. Spot prices on the market remained stable at Eur1,970/mt for
the week ending March 29. The April
European industry-settled upstream butadiene contract price settled at
Eur970/mt. This is down Eur20/mt since March. Because of the cheaper Asian imports, European spot market
prices were still under pressure at Eur1,800/mt. According to market sources, European producers are willing
to accept price drops in order to maintain sales. Market sentiment was bearish due to the low import prices in
