US Gulf spot methanol steady on the day on
April 27, amid no buying interest. No bids were heard on the day as the recent
uptick in trading came to an end. "Seems the party is over," a source
said. In April, 300,000 barrels have been heard purchased, with one producer
being involved in the majority of trades, sources said. Southern Chemical
Corporation nominated its North American methanol contract price at 170
cents/gal for May, 4 cents down on the month, the company announced in a
pricing statement April 27. SCC's contract price is now the lowest it has been
