On April 19, the Asian monoethylene-glycol market was trending upwards amid increasing geopolitical tensions. The MEG CFR China mark was up $2/mt for the day, at $520/mt. CFR Southeast Asia marked was up $3/mt to $528/mt. Sources on the market said speculation from Middle East tensions fueled an upward trend. Crude oil futures were up in the afternoon Asian trade on April 19 as investors assessed the effects of Israel's retaliatory attack against Iran and the possibility of supply disruptions, should violence escalate. On April 19, ICE June Brent futures rose $0.26/b for the day to $87.23/b.
