- June prices are rangebound due to a slowdown in buy
interest- Benzene-styrene spread widens

On June 19, the spot benzene prices for
June were in a range, as buying interest had been slow at the beginning of the
week. One source attributed the support for
June benzene at the end the previous week to a higher level of buying interest. The source
indicated that the buying activity had then slowed. On June 19,
benzene was priced at $879/mt CIF ARB, down $2.25/mt compared to June 16.
Styrene was priced at $968.50/mt FAB ARA for delivery in five-to-30-days' time
on June 19. This is up $2.75/mt compared to June 16. The spread
between benzene & styrene on June 16 was $84.50/mt and increased by $5/mt
in June 19 to $89.50/mt.
