- Styrene prices continue to rebound after last week's dip- Mixed downstream demand

Asian styrene monomer price rose on March
21 due to stronger indications of the domestic China market as well as firmer
upstream markets like crude oil. Meanwhile, the May ICE Brent futures contract
rose 3.78/b to $74.12/b at 0830 GMT March 21. Some volumes intended for South
Korea have been diverted to South China because of low demand in South Korea. Similar is the HIPS [high-impact polystyrene]. However, EPS [expandable
polstyrene] does okay. The packaging demand is good. Spot cargoes
are still in demand.
