Naphtha prices up $16/mt in one day / ICE Brent June Futures Up $2.18/b in a Day

The Asian benzene price rose during the session. FOB Korea and CFR China were at $1,058.67/mt apiece on April 23. This was up $7/mt apiece and $2/mt. The benzene discussions started out slow and steady in the morning, following the fall in downstream styrene prices. Discussions began to increase in intensity as crude oil prices increased. On April 23, crude oil futures rose in mid-afternoon Asian trading on the expectation of tighter supply following an expected US crude inventory reduction amid geopolitical risk in the Middle East. The front-month ICE Brent contract closed $2.18/b more than the previous day, at $88.19/b. Meanwhile, the C+F Japan Naphtha marker was $16/mt up at $706.625/mt on April 23. China's domestic benzene price was reported to have dropped marginally in line with the fall...
