Prices remained at $865/mt CIF Northeast Asia and $920/mt CIF Southeast Asia on
May 17. According
to sources, the low demand was due to macroeconomic factors like high interest
rates and volatile upstream prices as well as a slower than expected recovery
of demand after China's reopening. Market
sources attribute the lack of activity to a shortage of vessels that can
deliver typical Southeast Asian small-sized trades. This limits discussions on
