Refineries are running well and now drivingb>season as
expected. The
refineries are operating well, driving season as"Started," said a
trader. He added that it was peak season for South Korea's construction sector
which meant good demand for plywood and formaldehyde. Many participants were not reluctant to offer bids for
May or for volumes greater than 5,000mt. Although no firm offers were made, sellers indicated
that $300 -$310/mt for H2 April. Some
sellers chose to remain sidelined and look to offer in coming weeks
because May interest was still to see. There were hopes that some Iranian
cargoes, and Russia's methanol, could support April's inventory levels. Iranian cargoes were mostly booked at a premium price of
1-2% above the CFR WCI formula price, while Russian cargo prices remained
uncertain...
