Asian Polycarbonate prices fall as the market becomes cautious / Chinese domestic demand is still weak / Market participants are bearish on the market

Prices on the Asian polycarbonate markets fell in the week ending Oct. 16 as the market became cautious following the decline of the Chinese stimulus package. Based on tradeable indications heard at this level, general purpose PC prices were down $20/mt each day and every week to $1,780/mt, CFR China. Extrusion-grade computer was also assessed at $20/mt lower, both week over week and day to day, at $1800/mt CFR China, based on the tradable indicator heard at this level. The Chinese market is relatively calm while other regions perform well. Taiwanese producers said that export demand was also better than domestic demand, partly due to the lower shipping rates.
