Asian Styrene prices rise on firmer crude oil- Backwardation in the domestic Chinese market shrinks- Middle East cargoes are heard being offered to ChinaThe Asian styrene markets rose on June 16
in response to higher crude oil prices. As of 0830 GMT, the front-month ICE Brent futures contract
increased $1.91/b. East China's domestic
market took its cues from the stronger crude oil markets, and gained Yuan
120/mt to Yuan 7,685/mt. East China
inventories fell for a fourth consecutive week to 45,600 mt during the week
ending June 14. Prices are following crude
oil because fundamentals haven't changed much in recent months."We need to look at the spreads more
closely," said one trader. The
intermonth spreads on the Chinese domestic market have also shrunk due to higher
