Asian ABS prices fall slightly amid declining upstream costs / Stable market demand / Upstream Butadiene Price Drops $20/mt in a Week

Asian acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene prices saw a slightdip on the week May 8, as upstream costs saw a decline in thesame week. the ABS CFR China and CFR Southeast Asiamarkers at $1,450/mt and $1,470/mt, respectively, with the CFRChina price stable while the CFR Southeast Asia marker saw a$10/mt fall on May 8.This change took into account the fall in upstream costs instyrene monomer and butadiene, and reflected a price spreadof $20/mt between Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia based onindications heard at flat to $30/mt.The upstream CFR China styrene monomerand FOB Korea markers were at $1,145/mt and $1,135/mt,respectively, May 8, both down $12/mt from the previous week.Other than SM, the upstream butadiene CFRChina was down $20/mt on the week at $1,400/mt, while theacrylonitrile CFR Far East Asia marker remained stable on theweek at...
