Asian Caprolactam prices fall as China's domestic market falls / Tradeable indication at $1.500/mt / Participants on the sidelines amid volatility

The week ended October 24, Asian caprolactam was assessed as $30/mt lower, based on a weaker Chinese domestic market. Prices in the upstream sector saw a partial recovery, with benzene rising by $16.33/mt and reaching $898.33/mt FBO Korea. Ammonia CFR Fareast Asia was also assessed to be $10/mt higher at $460/mt. Domestic prices in China were reported to have fallen Yuan 500/mt over the past week due to higher inventories and slower demand. A buyer stated that caprolactam should be priced at $70-$80/mt less. "Producers will likely lower prices soon, as the China market is weakening," he said.
