Asian Caprolactam prices stable amid low trade / Momentum for molten grade slows in the local China market / NE Asian and Indian buyers show little interest

Amidst thin spot trading, Asian caprolactam remained stable at $1.475/mt CFR Far East Asia on February 20, despite a week-over-week increase. The upward trend in China's East China market of the most liquidly-traded molten grade paused from previous weeks as buyers resisted further price increases. Last discussions took place in the range Yuan 11,100-11,200/mt. Prices for the solid grade that is less commonly traded rose by approximately Yuan 200/mt due to tighter supply. On the spot CFR market in Northeast Asia, buyers' interest remained tepid despite traders offering Russian-origin cargoes.
