homopolymer





In the week ending June 14, there was no
clear direction for prices on the European polypropylene markets, but activity
increased in anticipation of summer. Prices varied throughout the week. Import
material was readily available at competitive prices, which distorted
expectations. Sources reported homopolymer prices as low as
Eur800/mt from sources outside Europe, leading to wide spreads in the industry. Spot pricing
for homopolymer materials was available in the domestic market from below
Eur1,000/mt to Eur1,150/mt. Outright pricing levels in the market
were heard to depend on the seller's position. Inventory levels varied widely
from one seller to another. "It depends on whether people
are really trying to move volume... A trader
