Prices fell further due to weakness in the
Asian market for benzene, as everyone was watching the US market to see if it
would provide some relief to the market. Two counterparties signed an open deal at $850/mt to load
July FOB Korea cargo. This was followed by a bidding at the same price. The H2 June laycan was bid $870/mt just before the session
closed, but the FOB Korea benzene mark still ended the day $19.67/mt down at
$858.33/mt. Local sources say that
scheduled turnarounds of some downstream benzene products are unlikely to
