US Gulf Coast benzene spot prices dropped 1 cent May 29 amid lower crude oil futures. Spot June DDP benzene was 394 cents/gal USG DDP and June FOB at 399cents/gal USG FOB, both of which were down by 1 cent/gal. Prices for July were 390 cents/gal DDP and 395 cents/gal FOB, both down by 1 cent/gal. Ethylbenzene was assessed at 363 Cents/gal for June DDP, and 369 Cents/gal for July DDP. The FOB-DDP premium was unchanged at 5 cents, and the backwardation between forward and front months was 4 cents. The market was waiting for the June contract to settle before reporting any bid-offer differences. Crude oil futures fell on May 29 as concerns about economic growth weighed down demand expectations.
