Benzene spot market stable / Crude Oil Futures Settle Lower

US Gulf benzene prices remained unchanged at 370 cents/gal DDP USG on May 3. The market experienced a dramatic drop on May 2, with benzene prices dropping by 20 cents/gal per day. Market sellers were said to be waiting and seeing what happens, as the recent market bearishness has discouraged them. Buyers have shown little interest in purchasing new tons. The interest in forward-month sales for June was also muted. Prices were unchanged at 368 Cents/gal DDP. The FOB-to-DDP premium was unchanged at 5 cents, and the May and June price backwardation remained at 2 cents.
