China domestic market sees recovery in price / CPDC Dec contract price not announced

Asian caprolactam prices were stable in the week ending Nov. 28 amid muted discussions heard on the week. Asian caprolactam stable week on week for CFR Far East Asia at $1,510/mt Nov. 28. Upstream benzene prices fell, with the FOB Korea marker closing at $820/mt Nov. 28, falling $21/mt on the week. In China, domestic prices continued its uptrend, with east China domestic prices for the molten grade heard Yuan 200-300/mt higher compared to the previous week at around Yuan 11,100-11,200/mt. Owing to continued downstream expansions in China, sales volumes were "favorable", said a market source, which helped to support prices along the value chain.
